Topic of the Week: WA Wedding 9/8

Just thought I'd post a new topic of the week to get people going for Season 4, if at all you're still going to watch.

The WestAllen Wedding...discuss based on these floating around.

Definitely not watching this farce. I still hold out hope that it's some kind of giant mislead, but I'm not going to reward them for propping up the farce by watching it.

Kreisberg also said that marriage may not last.

It seems like they are trying whatever they can to keep them together for this bogus fan service. It can only get worse from here on.

Well, I'm not watching anyway, but until I see definite proof otherwise, I'm going to bitterly cling to the theory that the Barry who emerges from the Speed Force in 4x01 is some kind of impostor, meaning Iris doesn't marry the real Barry. If that's the case, then when does he get out? Only time will tell.

I guess they will pull the rabbit out of the hat in the mid-season finale. I know the first several episodes will be WasteAllen heavy and I'm not sticking around for it.

Heheh - that old expression makes me think of Abra Kadabra, since magic tricks are his thing and all. But yeah, in the crossover or the midpoint would be my guess.

I literally don't mind watching something else and coming back when things get good again.

What if they don't drop it after this season? What's going to happen to the show?

Premature cancellation. Simple as that.

Probably or powers that be, the network will make some angry calls to HELLbing, Crisisberg and Bitchlanti. The CW is known to hang on to shows even with low ratings, but I don't think they can hang on with the way it's been dropping now. The people who used to care, don't anymore, the writing is just so bad and people are tired of waiting for something good to happen. With them sidelining Caitlin even more this season, they are digging their own grave.

Amen to that. Something's got to give, and WA/Iris has always been the dead weight.

The more "spoilers" I hear the more they push me and others who agree away. It's like they are begging us to stay away and watch other shows.

If they are getting WA out of the way only to cancel it ahead of time, that's one thing. If they are long hauling this to piss around, I'm out.

Same. The only logic in rushing the WA wedding is so that they can end it and move on to better things and a better ship - with any luck, Snowbarry. There's no story left to tell with that forced garbage.

That's if there is logic to begin with. I don't think they have a plan, they might panic though. Push comes to shove.

Well, I figure there are two possibilities. One, they have a plan and WA is deliberately being rushed so they can end it that much sooner. Two, they're actually deluding themselves that it'll sell, and once it becomes clear they're dead wrong, they'll panic and undo it. There's no way of knowing yet which one is closer to the truth; I just prefer to think the first for the sake of my own well-being.

I know it's heartless to say but I have no sympathies given. If they drag this out for 7 seasons, the "will they or won't they?" that no one wants I don't see it being redeemed. Just when I think they can change something comes in the way and it's like this ship if the show's quicksand. They are insulting our intelligence. Only so much of that people can take. Nothing about what is told and forced since day one is going to sell. They can't be this stupid.

Another reason I lean towards the first of those two theories. The backlash is too strong for them to drag things out.

Even people gave up on Friends, a show with ginormous popularity in its prime, more than Flash could ask for. Back then, ratings were in the tens of millions pre-social media. I love how people think 4 million is popular.  I think the show's numbers has dropped significantly. I'm hoping the backlash does pay off toward something.
